Park In-tae, center of professional basketball LG, returned from rehabilitation from injury.
After going through a long rehabilitation process after knee surgery in December 2023, he was deployed at the end of the fourth quarter during the second Group C match of the '2025 FIBA Basketball Champions League (BCL) Asia' held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the 9th (Korea time).
"I'm not 100 percent physically fit yet, but I'm just thankful that I got a chance to come back," Park said after the game. "I was so nervous the moment I entered the stadium again. I just feel grateful even if I run for just one second." 안전놀이터
It was unclear at first whether to include the entry for this year's event, but the absence of Heo Il-young, Jang Min-gook, and Jeon Sung-hyun made the decision. Park In-tae said, "I have a chance all of a sudden. I'm so glad that I got a precious opportunity."
Regarding the preparation process for his return, Park In-tae said, "Coach Kang Byung-hyun urged me to 'make my body even during vacation because you may go (to Dubai)," adding, "I have been steadily doing weight, shooting practice, and aerobic exercise since I stayed in Changwon." The opportunity really came, and thanks to the preparation, I was able to manage my body and mind," he explained.
Park In-tae groaned from minor knee injuries and underwent cartilage surgery after completing his military service. Longer-than-expected rehabilitation followed, and he and his team took steps to arbitrarily terminate the rehabilitation process. "I had a hard time at the prospect that I might not be able to return to the team at all. There were many moments when I wanted to give up," Park said.
The biggest support was family. Park In-tae said, "My parents were the most worried. I told them that I wanted to give up with a big heart, but they held me back, saying, 'Let's do it as much as we can. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have been able to endure it."
He also mentioned support from the team. "I remember he encouraged me to say whatever I needed from the team. I am happy to be back with the team after more than a year of rehabilitation," he said.
Regarding his current physical condition, Park In-tae said, "I'm very excited to come to the stadium with my teammates and exercise after a long time. My physical condition is about 70 to 80 percent. I have time until the start of next season, so I will focus on raising my body as much as possible."
"I desperately need every moment. I want to contribute to my defense, rebound and screen. We have to show good chemistry in the two-man game," he said.
He signaled a change in his future. "His personality is not very strong, but he will change on the court," Park In-tae said. "LG's general manager Son Jong-oh also recently advised him to show confidence as if he is acting in a competition. I am also feeling the need for change. I will try to change it."
